“Basel 2001” 500th Anniversary Watches from Oris

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the accession of Basle to the Swiss Confederation, Oris is launching the official jubilee watch “Basel 2001”.
This precious and exclusive model, created to commemorate Basle's federal oath of 1501, is produced in a limited edition of 500 watches, individually numbered from 001/500 to 500/500. The dial features the official logo of “Basel 2001”. Engraved on the case back are the anniversary signet together with the heraldic shields of the two cantons of Basle and the individual number of the watch. A certificate is provided to confirm authenticity.

Oris has developed the jubilee watch from the new Classic Line XXL, characterised by a simple, elegant case in stainless steel with a large display for the classical modern dial. Fitted with a sapphire crystal and screw-back, the watch is water resistant to a depth of 30 m. The High-Mech movement is automatic.

In addition to being a superior example of horology, this commemorative watch demonstrates Oris' bonds with the region of Basle. Located since 1904 in HÖlstein, the factory is a long-time exponent of the art of mechanical watchmaking. Its high-quality watches with High-Mech movements are renowned all over the world.

The jubilee watch confirms the Oris commitment to both regions of Basle. It is available through specialised Oris retailers in the Basle region at CHF 950.00 and in two sizes (36 mm and 40 mm &Mac198;).
