To coincide with the start of the 2012-2013 football season, Hublot has launched a limited-edition King Power model dedicated to FC Bayern Munich. The official timekeeping partner of the German club developed the model, with its signature 45-minute counter specifically for football matches, in close partnership with the team.

The King Power FC Bayern Munich was launched earlier this week by Jean-Claude Biver (Chairman of HUBLOT), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Executive Board member of FC Bayern München AG) and a selection of FC Bayern players (including Ribéry, Boateng, van Buyten, Luiz Gustavo, Can as well as the newly acquired Shaqiri and Pizarro).

The limited-edition of 200 pieces has a 48mm titanium case and a titanium bezel covered with black rubber, with the Bayern Munich logo transferred on to the sapphire crystal dial at 3 o’clock. The club’s colours (red and the traditional Bavarian colours of light blue and white) also feature on the dial to highlight the hour and minute scales. It is powered by the HUB4245 self-winding mechanical skeleton chronograph movement, which offers a power reserve of 42 hours.

With Bayern Munich having lost out to Chelsea in the 2011-2012 Champions League final and Hublot’s other partner club, Manchester United, having succumbed in the final the season before to Barcelona (official timekeeper: Seiko), Mr Biver will no doubt be hoping for better fortune for both clubs this season.
