Last month, a group of motivated representatives of Bulgari from Spain, Italy and Germany visited some of the Albanian projects Bulgari supports in Cerrik and in Tirana. The €245,000 Bulgari contribution to Albania has been funding four important education and protection projects, aiming to reduce violence against children and to support children at risk through a socio Educative Center.

Since 2011, a number of other field trips for the Bulgari sales force have been organized to visit Save the Children projects in Indonesia, Uganda, Japan, domestic programs in the US, and more visits are planned in 2012 to India and China. The impressive engagement of Bulgari staff after these trips confirms the remarkable vision of this initiative, both in growing the sense of belonging and in playing a critical role in fundraising for Save the Children.

The project funded by Bulgari is supporting formal and non-formal education at “Socio–Educative Center for Integration” (FBSH), public schools and community, to ensure equal access to services and reintegration for Roma and Egyptians children. During their visit Bulgari guests experienced the extreme poverty the Roma and Egyptian community and children live and how exposed they are to the risks of abuse, violence and exploitation. They saw how the Socio-Educative Centre supports these children through provision of formal and non-formal education, work with parents, material support, psycho-social support to families with a special focus to young mothers, referrals and recreational activities. Through support to these disadvantaged groups of children, Save the Children aims to minimize all forms of violence and abuse and raise the level of protection for them.

Thanks to the successful sales of its specially-designed silver and ceramic ring, Bulgari has already donated to Save the Children over €12 million Euros. The unique ring, launched in October 2010 is available in Bulgari stores worldwide, select department stores, and on Bulgari’s e-commerce website (active in the USA and Japan) for €390 ($420) each, of which €70 ($90) will be donated to Save the Children.

Bulgari’s financial commitment has already reached over 350.000 of the world’s neediest children, trained over 14,000 teachers running activities in over 1,000 schools in over 20 countries around the world. Thanks to the Bulgari partnership, 2,947 children have already been reached in Albania and 735 teachers have been trained.
