In acknowledgement of Rolex’s position at the forefront of exploration and expeditions, the Hillary Tenzing Edition package features as its centrepiece three Rolex Explorer models with a personalised vintage Hillary Tenzing Edition (HTE) look and feel.

In addition, numerous other custom-made items commemorating the 1953 Everest expedition are included in each package in this limited series of 88 that commemorates two of the greatest mountaineering families of all time.

Peter Hillary and Jamling Tenzing Norgay will lecture in Hong Kong at a special event on Friday 30 March 2012 to share their personal perspective on their fathers’ accomplishments and give insight on what it takes to get to the top of the world. They will also highlight the Rolex watches their fathers wore.

During an exceptional exhibition of vintage watches on Saturday 31 March, HTE Initiator Philipp Stahl will use his vast know-how and usual wit to pay special attention to the history and heritage of Rolex.

In May 2011, HTE number 88/88 was sold for $104,568 at Christie’s in Geneva. The revenues of the auction went entirely to the Hillary and Tenzing family foundations. Number 01/88 has been delivered recently in Hong Kong to the first proud customer.
