s a non-limited edition, the SUB 600T in stainless steel is probably one of the most popular models in the DOXA range. What is special about this timepiece is its distinctive 80s vibe: goodbye soft curves, hello straight lines, right angles and a functional aesthetic!
Gone is the curvy tonneau case. Instead, we have a hefty chamfered block with right angles, and an offset crown at 4 o’clock. The unidirectional bezel that allows for calculation of the dive time without decompression stops – a patented innovation – is more massive too, with the functional benefit of improved legibility and handling with a gloved hand.
Indeed, the 80s were also a time of innovation and upheaval in the watch world, both above and beneath the surface. This is what led to the development of the SUB 600T, which is waterproof to a depth of 600 metres. When the brand relaunched the model last year, it proved an instant hit.
- At 40mm, the case diameter of the DOXA SUB 600T remains unchanged. Made of 316L stainless steel and topped with a sapphire crystal, the case, and thus the movement it protects, is pressure-resistant to 60 bar (600 metres).
The SUB 600T with three hands and date is available with either a stainless-steel bracelet or an FKM rubber strap. Most importantly , it comes in all of the brand’s emblematic colours: Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar, Turquoise Aquamarine and, from now on, Whitepearl too.
As with the original model from 40 years ago, the crown is still at 4 o’clock and the patented unidirectional rotating bezel is also present. The bezel, with dual indication of the dive time (minutes) and depth (feet), can be ordered with either a sand-blasted steel insert or a ceramic insert.
All dive-related indications are coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova®, including the distinctive ‘shark tooth’ markers at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, for optimal readability in low light conditions.
