Maurice Lacroix Lidija Lijic x Pontos S Diver: true to the original

In partnership with ML Crew member and world champion freediver Lidija Lijic, Swiss brand Maurice Lacroix has created a diver’s watch featuring numerous enhancements while preserving the essence of the original Pontos S Diver model.

n 2013, Maurice Lacroix released its first-generation Pontos S Diver. A few years later, the brand ceased production of the model to focus on the highly successful Aikon. Following numerous requests for the diver’s watch to be reissued, the company has now unveiled a new version of the Pontos S Diver that incorporates a number of improvements while retaining the spirit of the inaugural model.

The Swiss watchmaker sought the expertise of ML Crew member and world champion freediver Lidija Lijic (her record for staying underwater is 5 minutes and 43 seconds) when developing the model. Housed in a 42mm stainless steel or, for the first time, bronze case, the watch features faceted hour and minute hands outlined with Super-LumiNova, with a coloured border on the minute hand.

The latest Pontos S Diver is available in several variants. Steel models come with a choice of black grained or white lacquered dial options, while the bronze model, limited to just 500 pieces, features a sumptuous blue grained dial.

Hours are indicated with applied indexes outlined in lume. Subtle changes to the original dial design include crisper, more prominent indexes and minute markings. Additionally, the date is framed with a raised border that helps it stand out from the rest of the dial. Each detail is optimised for unparalleled readability.

The automatic ML115 calibre powers the Pontos S Diver. A dedicated crown at 2 o’clock allows the wearer to adjust the internal rotating bezel with its count-up scale, useful for measuring elapsed time underwater. The watch also features a centre seconds hand and a date display at 6 o’clock. A second crown at 3 o’clock adjusts various indications and can be used to manually wind the movement.

For the launch, steel models are supplied with three colour-coordinated straps: an M-branded fabric strap and two rubber straps featuring Maurice Lacroix branding in relief. The bronze version includes two straps: one in vintage dark blue leather with the company’s M-logo, and a second in dark blue rubber embossed with ‘Maurice Lacroix’.

Price range: CHF 1,990-2,530
