n the wake of the four Overseas watches unveiled at Watches and Wonders Genève in 34.5 mm and 35 mm diameters, Vacheron Constantin’s sporty-chic collection welcomes a new 35 mm model entirely draped in pink gold. Noble and refined, as well as casually elegant, its lustrous personality echoes that of artist and explorer Zaria Forman, who has joined Vacheron Constantin’s circle of ‘One of not Many’ talents.
Zaria Forman is based in New York, yet her art is rooted in the most remote regions of the globe. With her camera slung over her shoulder, she has travelled the planet for over 15 years documenting changing landscapes by collecting images and memories that she then reproduces in large-format pastels, which have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
The new Overseas self-winding watch reveals a new facet of its temperament. Its calling card is a harmonious tone-on-tone approach that sets the warm reflections of its pink gold case and bracelet against the radiant glow of the dial’s lacquered satin-brushed sunburst finish.
- Vacheron Constantin’s artisans devoted considerable effort to achieving the exact dial shade to match the caseband and bracelet. This monochrome look is accentuated by the brilliance of 90 diamonds set into the six-sided bezel, reminiscent of a Maltese cross. The result is a slim cuff watch that sits elegantly on the wrist.
To mark off the hours, minutes and seconds, the Overseas self-winding model opts for the ultra-reliable Calibre 1088/1. This high-precision beating heart comprises 144 components and operates at a frequency of 4 Hz. For even greater timekeeping precision, the movement is equipped with a stop-second mechanism for accurate time-setting. Like the rest of the collection, the new Overseas self-winding model features an interchangeable bracelet and buckle system, ensuring it can adapt to any situation.
