Probably the most awe-inspiring and thought-provoking feature of the watch is its meteorite dial. This incredible material projects you back to the very origins of our solar system. Meteorites are fragments of asteroids that have travelled through space and time, revealing secrets about how planets and life itself were formed. For this new edition, Awake used dials carved from the Muonionalusta meteorite that hit the Earth’s surface over a million years ago. Discovered in 1906, it is the oldest known meteorite, 20 million years older than Earth itself.

In line with their purposeful approach to watchmaking, Awake uses 70% recycled titanium for their cases, significantly lowering the environmental impact of this waterproof tool watch. It is powered by a robust, reliable Miyota automatic movement which delivers 42 hours of power reserve and beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour. The Time Travelers come in two limited editions of 500 pieces, one in grey titanium and the other in deep purple.

This alien alloy fragment bears the traces of its journey through space and time. Each dial is made from thin strips of this unique material, which means no two dials are the same. Its distinctive metallic patterns are created by the intense heating followed by rapid cooling as the meteorite entered our atmosphere. The delicate and meticulous dial-making process requires the utmost precision in polishing to bring out the pattern, which gives the watch an ever-changing face as it catches the light.

Aligning with their philosophy of using technology to raise awareness of the beauty and fragility of our world, Awake has incorporated a passive contactless technology into the sapphire glass, which provides unprecedented access to blockchain-secured services and experiences.
