ith 112 possible configurations offered by Formex, there was no shortage of choice when it came to creating your own ‘Baby Reef’ diver’s watch. This choice has been further extended with the introduction of a new colour: ‘Bahama Blue’. All the bracelets, clasps and bezels in the Reef diving collection can be swapped out by hand, with no tools required!
Formex is renowned for the special care it takes in the finishing of its watches, which is part of its unrivalled offering in its segment, and this new model is no exception. The sky-blue or ‘Bahama Blue’ dial is finished with polished lacquer: the experts at the brand’s dial manufacture in the Swiss Jura region first apply the colour, then add seven layers of lacquer, which are then polished.
- With its tool-free exchangeable bezels and straps, the Formex Reef stands out as one of the market’s most versatile mechanical dive watches. The meticulously hand-finished 39.5mm stainless steel case houses a Chronometer-grade, officially certified Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement, offering 56 hours of power reserve.
This complex process creates a deep, lustrous shine that is particularly evident in the angled date window at 6 o’clock – a hallmark of all Formex watches. To enhance the summer look, the colour-matched ceramic bezel is polished with diamond paste to achieve the same exquisite finish as the dial. The numerals and hour markers on the diving bezel are hand-filled with black resin for optimum legibility.
All strap options (with the exception of the NATO pin buckle) feature an exclusive progressive fine adjustment system, enabling a perfect fit on the wrist in all conditions and temperatures. While the stainless steel bracelet has a 10mm adjustment concealed in a compact folding clasp, the rubber and leather straps feature a carbon fibre folding clasp that enables progressive adjustment of up to 7mm while the watch is worn on the wrist.
A watch made for your wrist... and your taste!
