he extraordinary life and career of legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna is being brought to life in the new Netflix series, Senna. As part of this commemoration, Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer, in collaboration with the Senna Brand, is launching a timepiece dedicated to Senna’s legendary prowess and honouring the 30th anniversary of his legacy.

The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna started in 1988, and, over the course of his career, the long-standing TAG Heuer ambassador redefined the word “drive” by breaking many records. At the time, the Brazilian dominated Formula 1, becoming World Champion in 1988, 1989 and 1991.

The watch, designed with meticulous attention to detail, incorporates elements that reflect Senna’s spirit and achievements. The carbon bezel, inscribed with “Senna” and a tachymeter scale reaching up to 400 km/h, symbolise the speed and precision that defined Senna’s career. The nine o’clock subdial prominently features Senna’s branding, a subtle yet powerful nod to the legendary driver, while the counter appears in a bold yellow, echoing the shade of the Senna logo.

The skeleton dial, reworked with multiple finishes and incorporating a checkered flag motif, represents Senna’s victorious spirit. The case, crafted from grade-2 titanium, contains sharp, dynamic lugs with vertical brushing and sandblasted rims, creating a three-dimensional architectural profile that speaks to the sophistication and elegance of high-end watchmaking.

Turning the watch over, the 44mm caseback reveals an iconic image of Senna with his helmet, provided by the Senna Brand. This image, coupled with a reference to the watch’s rarity as one of just 500, underscores the exclusivity and high demand for this exceptional timepiece. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Senna also includes a high-quality blue rubber strap, ensuring both durability and comfort.
