Antiquorum Auctioneers is excited to offer two Audemars Piguet Royal-Oak Offshore ‘Jay-Z 10th Anniversary’ wristwatches in its September sale of Important Collectors’ Wristwatches, Pocket Watches & Clocks. The auction will be held at The Grand Havana Room (666 Fifth Avenue at 53rd Street) in New York on September 20th.

The first of the Audemars Piguet ‘Jay-Z 10th Anniversary’ wristwatches is part of a limited edition of 50 examples to honour Jay-Z’s 10th year in the music industry in 2005.
It is a very fine and rare, octagonal, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel and diamond gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and date. It is also accompanied by an iPod as well as original box and certificate. The estimate for this exceptional watch is US$ 20,000 – 25,000.

In addition, there will be another Audemars Piguet ‘Jay-Z 10th Anniversary’ wristwatch in 18K pink gold offered in the September auction. This wristwatch is made in a limited edition of 30 examples. It is a very fine and rare, octagonal, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K pink gold and diamond gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, date and is also accompanied by an iPod, original box, and certificate. It is estimated at US$ 40,000 - 50,000.



Jay-Z, President/CEO of Def Jam recordings & Roc-A-Fella Records was asked to co-design a commemorative watch in honour of his ten years in the music industry. Audemars Piguet felt that no other artist has contributed so much in a 10-year period and wanted to mark the occasion with an anniversary wristwatch. In total, 100 timepieces were produced; 50 in stainless steel, 30 in pink gold, and 20 in platinum. Each watch is engraved on the back with, ‘Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary’. A portion of each watch sold was donated to the S. Carter Scholarship fund which provides financial assistance to promising individuals providing acceptance into any accredited institution of higher learning.
