Tommy Hilfiger began his career as a fashion designer in New York in 1979. His first signature collection appeared in 1984 the rest of the story is history. Today his organization has over 5,000 employees with sales reaching US$ 1,888 million in 2002 (March 2003 year-end).
Tommy Hilfiger watches are made under licence by the Movado Group. Classically styled, yet modern in execution, the watches are inspired by Hilfiger's clothing and are reasonably priced. Tommy Hilfiger's father was in the watch business, so it isn't surprising that Hilfiger and Movado have a close relationship in the creation of the watches which range from casual to sporty and what they term 'classically preppy styles'.
