Chronographe Suisse launches Mangusta Supermeccanica Stupenda

May 2005

A direct descendant of the Mangusta Supermeccanica, the Stupenda also employs a lateral attachment, using a process patented by Chronographe Suisse, whereby the attachment is clinched to the original case, thereby protecting the crown.
With its width increased from 45 to 51.40 mm, this version combines urban style with sporty looks. The case is surmounted by a dashing dark enamelled tachometer bezel that provides an original speed-computing function.
On land, in the skies or at sea, the mark excludes no field where the rendezvous is speed. The sapphire domed watch glass, tested in the most rigorous pressure conditions, is proofed for absolute immersion. The elegant short steel stems of the hands and time pointers have a purity of design, ensuring easy reading underwater through the presence of terminal luminescent spots employing Superluminova.
The polished metallic-finish watch dial, features three chronometer counters which underscore its sporty look. A strap characterized by a circular symmetry of angular alligator scales secures the watch to the wrist. The desire for modernity embodied in a slim and harmonious case, combined with the unending search for faultless technical prowess led Chronographe Suisse to employ an unusual type of movement.
Abandoning the mechanical standards whereby the weights either completely cover or laterally flank the movement, the gauge in this case employs a weight mounted in the chrome parts of the movement, oscillating internally, thus forming a faithful and reliable servant measuring the perpetual rhythm of time.
Massive yet elegant, the result perpetuates the technical and aesthetic criteria of comfort and legibility that have built the renown of the brand.
