Round 3 of the Trofeo Audemars Piguet Maserati Europe took place on May 26th, 27th and 28th 2006 at the Brno circuit (Czech Republic).
Nineteen Grand Sport Trofeo cars took to the track along a winding, but extremely interesting route. The minimal time differences recorded during the trials on Saturday augured well for a close-run race, particularly in the centre of the group.



In 12th position on the starting grid, and having clocked up a time of 2'17"184 during the qualifying heats, the Audemars Piguet VIP Car unfortunately dropped to the back of the ranks due to the daring decision to renounce the charms of technology: “Contrary to what I had expected, I found it difficult to control the car once the assistance system was deactivated and I lost speed), explained the driver Jean-Claude Andruet. Nonetheless, the Czech journalist and friend of the brand, Milan Jirous, took the wheel for the second half of the race with a radiant smile. The most important thing is taking part, after all!
The next meeting is scheduled for the first weekend of July in Oeschersleben (Germany).
