Rado lights up Times Square to support breast cancer awareness

October 2006

Swiss watch company Rado honored those affected by breast cancer with a multimedia event in Times Square, New York.

Breast cancer survivors (whose names were entered on Rado's Web site) and their supporters gathered in Times Square to watch the names appear on multiple LED screens for an hour. Companies that donated their LED screens for the event included Cingular Wireless, MTV, Prudential and Toys “R” Us. A newly installed Rado billboard above the Swatch store will continue to scroll the names through Oct. 31.

Rado plans to make a contribution to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of every name entered on its Web site: www.rado.com/timetofight

In 2005, Rado introduced the “Time to Fight” campaign to benefit breast cancer research. As part of the campaign, Rado created the Sintra Jubilé Pink watches, of which 10 percent of the proceeds go to the foundation.
