Design is in pole position with new Tissot chronographs

July 2008

The new Tissot Racing chronograph timepieces have their eye on the chequered flag. Inspired by modern racing cars, these watches ooze appeal for wearers with petrol in their veins. Their modernity is fuelled by contemporary materials and a distinctly high-tech silver, black and anthracite colour palette with fiery red touches.

Revving up
Design meets performance in the Tissot Racing watches. The smallest of the chronograph discs has a three-arm indicator in the form of a racing car’s steering wheel. Each of the arms culminates in a red arrow that records three of the nine, marked 1/10 second digits. The pushers are inspired by sequential gear levers located behind the steering wheels of modern sports cars and stand out against design detail imitating the structure of a sporty car radiator grill. The air vent inspiration also finds expression in the striped background of the chronograph discs. Clearly marked at the 4 o’clock position is the date, which can be easily read, even at higher rev counts.

Cruising in style
The Tissot Racing chronographs are certainly up to speed when it comes to sophisticated looks. A deeply indented case and finely marked tachymeter signal class and quality. A combination of brushed and polished stainless steel finishes, plus a screw-down crown, complete the line-up. As an alternative to the elegant stainless steel bracelet, wearers can choose from a chequered black rubber strap and one in genuine leather with nostalgic driving-glove style perforations and racy red stitching. Wearers of the Tissot Racing watches will be in pole position whether they are hitting the town or the tarmac.
