Xavier Rosset and Instruments & Mesures du Temps depart today for 300 days on a desert island

September 2008

Xavier Rosset, a 31-year old Swiss adventurer, has made a challenging bet – to survive on a deserted volcanic island in the middle of the Pacific. The island, named Tofua, belongs to the Tonga archipelago and is 10'600 miles away. Rosset will attempt to survive 300 days totally disconnected from civilization.

Rosset leaves on his daring adventure today armed with only a Swiss knife and a machete. Endurance, resistance and perseverance will be his unique weapons during this confrontation with the wilderness.

Forever an enthusiast of the extreme sports, Instruments & Mesures du Temps will also be taking part in the adventure. On his arrival on the island, Xavier will bury his Scuderia 22, the emblematic model of the I&MT collection, thus symbolizing a break in the endless race against time.
