Blancpain, the world's oldest watch brand, has announced its union with the iconic luxury carmaker, Lamborghini. This alliance is distinguished by the twin themes of speed and mechanical prestige. Presided over by the respective President and CEOs of Blancpain and Lamborghini, Messrs Marc A. Hayek and Stephan Winkelmann, the partnership was sealed in a ceremony that took place at the last DTM Grand Prix of the season on the Hockenheim race track in Germany.



This union celebrates the technical performances and exclusive aesthetics of two manufacturers at the peak of their art combining tradition and innovation. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is a dream come true for motor sports enthusiasts, setting the stage for the very latest gleaming Gallardo LP560-4 speed machines to compete in the world's fastest and most demanding mono-brand championship.



From May 2009 onwards, 30 high-powered cars carrying the Blancpain-Lamborghini colours will compete on Europe's finest racing tracks. And when Lamborghini sets out to push the boundaries of speed, it naturally teams up with a watch brand characterized by a time-honoured pioneering spirit and peerless mechanical expertise. An intensely dynamic union that is gearing up to roar out of the starting blocks!
