The 8 Jours by Eberhard & Co., launched in 1997, became the first wristwatch with an indicator for an eight-day power reserve. This was achieved using a a special patented device with two superimposed springs with a combined length of one and a half metres.
This new 18 carat rose gold version of the 8 Jours Grande Taille has the same characteristics as the original stainless steel model with a 42 mm case and a sapphire crystal caseback in order to be able to appreciate the watch’s movement: the bridge of the large barrel with its gold-plated and black gold treated silhouetted 8 and the coil of the second spring of the hand-wound mechanical Calibre E & Co. 896 movement based on the Peseux 7001.
The white dial of the 8 Jours comes with either Roman or Arabic numerals and the 8-day power-reserve indicator is at 9 o’clock with the small seconds at 6 o’clock. The watch is water-resistant to 30 metres and has a crocodile strap with an 18 carat rose gold buckle.
