Presenting its “Majesty” wristwatch to HRH the Prince of Wales enabled the Ellicott Company deftly to link history and present-day events.
On the occasion of a medal presentation to the Parachute Regiment at the Merville barracks in Colchester, the Ellicott Company had the rare honour and privilege of presenting the Prince of Wales with one of its latest creations, a “Majesty MG3” wristwatch designed in salute to King George III (1738 - 1820).
Historically distinguished, the Ellicott Company could proudly point to its own traditions inasmuch as John Ellicott (1706 - 1772), the founder’s son, had been appointed Clockmaker to King George III.
Ellicott CEO Pierre-André Finazzi asserted that the presentation of a “Majesty MG3” wristwatch to the Prince of Wales “was an honour and a source of pride” both for himself and for the company, stressing the many links between Ellicott’s own past and current events.
