Young Franco-Swiss company Celsius X VI II - creator of luxury objects combining mobile telephony and horological microengineering - made quite an achievement last weekend in Monaco at the famous charity auction Only Watch 2011, under the high patronage of HRH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Celsius was the first hybrid watchmaking brand to enter the Only Watch event, usually reserved for the world’s biggest watchmaking companies. The brand donated a unique mobile phone sporting the Monaco colours and a mysterious optical dual display.
Antiquorum valued the item at between 40,000 and 60,000 euros. But the one-of-a-kind piece for Only Watch 2011 sold for 75,000 euros (CHF 90,000) and thus achieved an extraordinary result, becoming the most expensive mobile phone ever sold at auction.
