A wristwatch would be nothing without its strap or bracelet and the choice here can be almost as overwhelming as that for the timepieces themselves.
Two exhibitors at this year’s BaselWorld show will be offering two vary different ranges of products. On the one hand is Hermann Staib GmbH, based in Pforzheim, Germany, who are specialists in Milanaise bracelets. These distinctive bracelets, with their finely interwoven mesh, are used for watches and in jewellery, as bangles for example.

On the other is Hirsch, based in Klagenfurt, Austria, who will be presenting fine leather and rubber straps. The Austrian firm will be presenting its own limited-edition strap at BaselWorld 2012.
Limited-edition Pythea straps by Hirsch |
The Pythea limited edition is a calfskin strap with embossed closed python scales and a patent finish and is available in a range of fashionable colours. These straps will be presented alongside new “trench coat2 colours for the brand’s rubber straps as well as its traditional artisan leather straps.
