Hublot presents its new limited-edition King Power Alinghi 4000, signalling a renewal of its partnership with the Swiss yacht racing team after supporting it for the 33rd America’s Cup in 2009 and 2010. The new partnership means a presence for Hublot on board the two monotype boats chosen by Alinghi for the 2012 season: the Extreme 40, which will compete on open water in the Extreme 40 international circuit, and the Décision 35, which will be in action on Lake Geneva throughout the season.

The King Power Alinghi 4000 is a limited edition of 100 numbered pieces with a matte carbon fibre case measuring 48mm in diameter and a matching carbon fibre bezel, which is affixed with Hublot’s signature “H”-shaped screws in black PVD titanium. Black PVD titanium is also used for the crown at 2 o’clock, the crown guard and screws, while black composite resin is used for the bezel lug and lateral inserts. The case back is in satin-finished black PVD titanium and features the Alinghi logo, which also features prominently on the dial in red SuperLuminova at 6 o’clock. This robust timepiece is certified to 400 ATM, of the equivalent of a depth of 4,000 metres.
Ernesto Bertarelli remarked: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Hublot back on board Alinghi, and an honour to have as a partner a company which is devoted to representing the values of quality and Swiss Made expertise across the world”.
Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, added: “Hublot is yet again demonstrating through this partnership its commitment to promoting Swiss values and Swiss technology; the fundamental values of Swiss Made, to which watchmaking as a whole is privileged to refer.”
