The latest model to be born from the tripartite partnership between Alpina Genève, PrivatAir (the Geneva-based international aviation group) and aeroplane manufacturer Cessna is the Alpina Worldtime Manufacture.
It is part of Alpina’s Aviation collection, which has been developed in close cooperation between the three partners, who also undertake cross-marketing activities in Europe and North America to promote their different products and services.

Alpina’s Worldtimer features a rotating ring with the names of 24 cities inscribed on it and a second rotating ring with 24-hour markers, which allows the time in any of the 24 cities to be read instantly in relation to the time shown by the hour and minute hands.
The 44mm diameter Alpina Worldtimer, with a brushed and polished stainless-steel case, uses the self-winding AL-718 calibre, which is based on the AL-710 calibre used in the Startimer Manufacture model and has a distinctive cutaway oscillating mass in black PVD.

The movement offers a 48-hour power reserve and all the functions can be operated by the crown at 3 o’clock. The dial and case back are protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a black crocodile strap secures the watch to the wrist.
Production of the Alpina Startimer Worldtimer is limited to 8,888 pieces, each of which is presented in a special box together with a scale model of a Cessna Citation Mustang in PrivatAir livery.
Despite this exclusivity, and although no price indication has been given, Alpina Genève claims that the price is “well below any other high-end Worldtimer with manufacture movement”.
