Automotive thrill-seekers looking for a new experience may wish to consider Laponie Ice Driving, a facility that offers the possibility to drive on nine different tracks (some of which are exact replicas of some of the world’s famous racing circuits) prepared on 750 acres of frozen lake in Sweden’s Lapland region.
Although the theoretical risk is zero (there is nothing to crash into), participants have to get to grips with driving on ice in freezing conditions in a choice of 28 specially-prepared sports cars with up to 500 horsepower and 600 studs on each winter tyre.
- LAPONIE ICE DRIVING LIMITED EDITION CHRONOGRAPH by BRM
French brand BRM has been a partner of this unique venture since last summer and now presents a limited-edition of 20 chronographs bearing the colours and logo of this ice driving experience.
The 44mm diameter case is in titanium and has brushed stainless-steel pushers and lugs, as well as a brushed stainless-steel crown engraved with the “Laponie Ice Driving” logo. The same logo features on the black dial, which has orange-accented Arabic numerals. The watch is powered by a self-winding chronograph movement and comes with a black leather strap with orange stitching.
