Auto racing demands an intimate relationship between the driver and his machine, because even milliseconds matter. The same attention to precision and technicality can also be found in Raidillon timepieces, which create an intimate connection with the wearer.
Inspired by strong Belgian tradition in racing, the “Raidillon” is a famous curve at the Spa-Francorchamps track. The “55” mark on Raidillon watches also represents the maximum number of cars allowed to participate at some races. Indicating the brand’s exclusivity, each model is made in a limited edition series of 55 timepieces, numbered from 0 to 55. Of course, the number 13 is left out; it is never included in races due to superstition.
More racing themes are found in Raidillon’s new release, the Chronograph 42 C10. Inspired by racing circuits, the index and details in relief around the dial mimic the rumble strips on the sides of racetracks. The circular area at 3 o’clock marks the turn into the famous “Raidillon” turn at Spa. The counter at 6 o’clock refers to its Belgian design, and its ‘Swiss Made’ fabrication. (VJ)
