17 French watch, jewellery and high-jewellery manufacturers representing 24 brands will be in Hong Kong for the September 2016 trade fairs.

The French are synonymous with fashion and style. This year, their flair will be on full display in Hong Kong, where 4 French watch manufacturers will be exhibiting at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, from 6th to 10th September 2016. The quartet will also be joined by a French watch straps manufacturer.

Over at the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, no less than a dozen French companies will be on display. They include 3 pearl and gemstone dealers at the Asia World Expo (AWE) from 13th to 17th September 2016, and 9 jewellery and high-jewellery manufacturers at the Convention and Exhibition Centre (CEC) from 15th to 19th September 2016.

On the watch side, expect the French brands to be sporting the the all-black look, including black dial and strap combinations. Akte’s Wall Street 42 model, and the Mach 2000 by Lip will be leading the way there.

Blue is one of the favourite colours for this year’s jewellery offerings. Sapphires have been given the place of honour by Joïa with its Héritage collection, while Bellon has focused its attention on topaz, with its London Blue Topaz collection. Expect to also see many open-work motifs resembling delicate lace, something we know the French do very well.

Attracting key players in the world’s watch and jewellery industries, the Hong Kong fairs attract record numbers each year. The greater presence by French watch and jewellery brands this year only hints at its importance as a premier trading hub. Of course, it’s also a vital springboard for the precious Asian market, something no luxury brand can do without.
