Chopard is today presenting a new precious stone. A discovery? No, an invention! It has the nobility of gold and the good manners of diamonds. Its name? Golden Diamonds.
Since its founding in 1860, Chopard has consistently asserted not only its taste for high demands and exclusiveness, but also it attachments to genuine simple values: work, patience and loyalty. Not forgetting a definite penchant for inventiveness. From the first workshop where pocket-watches were produced to the Manufacture of today, the blend of fine craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies have given rise to exceptional watches, as well as to jewellery-watches. These in turn engendered jewellery... good enough to eat!
Elegant and sparkling, Happy Diamonds heralded a succession of now legendary collections. Casmir, Pushkin, Ice Cube soon followed it... A dazzling array of spinning diamonds, playful interpretations and sophisticated creations that are amazingly easy to wear. Their secret? Happiness! All these jewellery creations have been made for pleasure, to go with that spectacular evening gown or a favourite pair of jeans, to look beautiful on a daily basis, to attract one's prince charming or to be appealing in everyday life. The inspiration behind them? Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, vice-president and artistic director, a passionate devotee of gemmology and tireless traveller. She makes any trip into an opportunity to explore and persistently pursues her goal: that of offering women radiant proof of their grace and strength by designing jewellery that resembles them. It was in this creative vein that, two years ago, Caroline hinted at the idea of a diamond in 18-carat gold.
Finally, in pursuit of lightness, Golden Diamonds has abandoned any thought of solid gold. Nonetheless, this does not prevent it, in keeping with the spirit of Haute Joaillerie, from proudly living up to its rank with a precious gem setting.
Shaped to form navette, heart, pear, cushion or baguette shapes, in harmony with the traditions of Haute Joaillerie, Golden Diamonds quite naturally adopts the cuts associated with diamonds. It also has fun trying out the full palette of colours. Crafted in white, yellow or rose gold, they make full use of their facets to catch the light of the stones with which they are set: sky-blue reflections stolen from blue diamonds or sapphires, or the golden glow conferred by chocolate-coloured diamonds. It is impossible not to succumb to the devastating magnetism and timeless charm of this stone that appears to have dropped out of space from another planet. A new gemstone that has no shortage of surprises in store...
