Bulgari's 241 carat sensation

October 2002

Bulgari stole the Oscars, along with actress Nicole Kidman, with the company's first major rough diamond jewelry piece, shamelessly composed of 241 carats of nature's best. The fabulous necklace, valued at 4 million dollars was a collaborative effort between Bulgari and De Beers, which provided the most extraordinary selection of rare rough diamonds from Botswana, South Africa and Namibia. Designed and fabricated at Bulgari's workshop in Rome, the necklace created a public sensation for rough diamonds, whose well-formed octahedron shape and soulful properties have been a symbol of purity and power since first discovered by mankind.
