New 100th anniversary Harley-Davidson Watches introduced

That rumbling you hear is the sound of Harley-Davidson motorcycles getting revved up about the upcoming 100th anniversary celebration. Harley-Davidson, in order to commemorate this landmark anniversary, has come out with a slew of 100th anniversary products, and watches are an integral part of the line up.
“Watches are a very specialized category for Harley-Davidson and they are very popular - we sell a lot of watches,” said Ruth Crowley, Vice President, merchandise division, Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
Harley-Davidson has come out with three very special timepieces, along with standard offerings, for this anniversary year, two for men and one for women, designed in tandem with Bulova and produced by Bulova in Switzerland.
“Harley-Davidson came to us and asked if we could develop some really high-end, special product for their anniversary,” explained Eric Hofmann, Director of marketing, Bulova. “They suggested a stainless steel pocket watch, and we came out with a skeleton stainless steel pocket watch, double covered with an ETA movement, and it has the 100th Anniversary logo etched on the front and laser engraved on the inside cover, limited to 2003 pieces.
”With the men's wristwatch, also limited to 2003 pieces, we did an autoquartz movement, with the H-D logo on the dial,“Hofmann continued.”The women's watch is limited to 500 pieces, each watch is individually numbered and has a push button deployment buckle, sapphire crystal, with 30 diamonds (24 white and 6 black), retailing for $925.00."
Harley-Davidson only sells watches through its own dealers in the United States, but in other countries Bulova can sell to both Harley dealers and their own distribution. The name Bulova appears on the anniversary watches, either on the dial, the case or both. Bulova plans to design and manufacture more watches for the Motor Company in the coming months and years.
