Piaget's Extra Plate
This ultra-thin model serves as a reminder that Piaget was a pioneer in the field. The first movement of this kind, presented in 1957, served as a springboard for the brand's impressive leap forward. Professional recognition and success among the international elite were quick to follow, leading to the now legendary saga. The ultra-thin movement driving this model was introduced in 1997. This mechanical hand-wound Calibre 430P is just 2.1 millimetres thick.
Round and extremely understated in appearance, this creation is a “watch among watches” in the purest timeless classic spirit. It is inspired by a 1960s vintage model from which it has drawn its virtually identical case and dial. Nonetheless, the hour-markers and baton hands are noticeably more modern against a charcoal-grey or silvered background.
The supreme touch of refinement stems from the mesh bracelet, created thanks to Piaget's expertise in jewellery-making. Polished lateral rectangles extend the sparkle of the case. In the centre, a combination of slender links, emerald cut like precious stones, filter the light playing over their satin-brushed surface. A delicate fitting process ensures exceptional flexibility and wearer comfort reinforced by a perfectly integrated and discreet clasp.
Superlative technical and aesthetic mastery make this a crowning achievement demonstrating the characteristic Piaget sense of finesse. It offers a subtle play on the brand's dual nature as a Watchmaker and Jeweller.
A more “confidential” version in platinum on leather strap is available exclusively in the Piaget boutiques.
