JUAN PABLO MONTOYA & AUDEMARS PIGUET
... or a friendship between two pole positions
The Manufacture Audemars Piguet is pleased to announce a sporting partnership with the talented Formula 1 racing driver, Juan Pablo Montoya.
“I am delighted that Juan Pablo Montoya now officially wears an Audemars Piguet watch on his wrist. He is a friend of the brand and we are thrilled to be making it public. Haute Horlogerie and Formula 1 share many fundamental values such as daring and precision, which is why in our quest for excellence we have decided to associate with a rising star in the demanding sport, Juan Pablo Montoya.”, said Georges-Henri Meylan, President of the Manufacture Audemars Piguet.
The 27 year-old Colombian has been a driver in the BMW Williams team since 2001 and has already taken part in a number of international Grand Prix races. “Audemars Piguet is in pole position in the field of Haute Horlogerie, which is why I enjoy wearing an Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph”, explained Juan Pablo Montoya.
Audemars Piguet has consistently cultivated a strong tradition in the field of sponsoring elite sportsmen and women and indeed in promoting sport as a whole. In creating the Royal Oak in 1972, the Manufacture Audemars Piguet defied existing trends with a high-end watch in steel, the first ever with a sporting vocation - Thirty years later, it remains the benchmark in the field. Audemars Piguet has thus offered sporting individuals a watch with movements ranging from the simplest to the most complex, designed to accompany them at all times and even in extreme conditions. The sporting partnership with Juan Pablo Montoya is thus perfectly in tune with the spirit of the Royal Oak 30th anniversary celebrations
