Jewellery Arabia 2001
Jewellery Arabia 2001 celebrated its 10th Anniversary in October with a record 25% increase totalling 17,510 professionals and private collectors and investors. Exhibitors reported significant interest and sales activity. For established exhibitors of the fair, sales and business remained at the previous year's figure or in some cases indicated a slight drop of 10% to 20%. In light of global political tensions and market reactions after September 11th, exhibitors were extremely satisfied with results. National pavilions from leading export countries included Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and India. New exhibitors included Mouawad of Saudi Arabia, Paolo Bongia of Lebanon and Vancox of Brazil. Watch manufacturers included Cartier, Chopard, Dianoor, Dunhill, Gaspari, Harry Winston, Jaeger Le Coultre, Piaget and Van Cleef and Arpels to mention a few. Theo FabergÉ also exhibited his exclusive watches and objets d'art from the St. Petersburg Collection.
At the end of this year's fair, 70% of all exhibitors signed on for 2002, which will include events such as the Haute Couture Gallery and Jewellery Festival.
