Seiko Agrees to a Licensing Contract for Products bearing the Official 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Marks
Seiko Corporation, of Tokyo, Japan, has just released™ that earlier this year it agreed to enter into an exclusive, world-wide product-license agreement with ISL Worldwide, of Switzerland, to produce and market wristwatches, clocks, and stopwatches bearing the official 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Marks (Official Emblem, Official Mascots and FIFA World Cup` Trophy). ISL Worldwide is the exclusive marketing partner of FIFA, the FÉdÉration Internationale de Football Association, the world governing body of Association Football.
In anticipation of the 2002 FIFA World Cup` soccer games, the first FIFA World Cup` to be held in Asia, Seiko Corporation and its group companies plan to market world-wide a wide range of branded licensed products, from popularly priced items to its luxury SEIKO CREDOR brand of watches, beginning in the fall of this year. Seiko expects that its 2002 FIFA World Cup` watches, clocks, and stopwatches range will record about 5 billion yen in retail sales.
