Jewellery Arabia

The 9th annual Jewellery Arabia 2000 marked a record increase in attendance of thirty percent last year. The exhibition is organized under the patronage of HH the Prime Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa bin Sulman Al Khalifa, who preformed the opening ceremony. The fair attracted 2,826 visitors from the region's single largest jewelry market, Saudi Arabia, as well as visitors from Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition was also open to private collectors and investors from the region by invitation only. Participants included 450 companies from 26 countries and national pavilions from Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Switzerland and Thailand. Also participating during the exhibition was Geneva based, Antiquorum Auctioneers, with a display of the past `100 Years of Wristwatches' including watches owned by the late King Farouk of Egypt and T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
The dates for Jewellery Arabia 2001 have been set for October 16th through October 20th.
