TAG Heuer is proud to announce that Tanya Streeter, the current holder of four free diving world records, has signed a long-term ambassador agreement covering product development, advertising, public relations and merchandising.
“We are delighted to welcome Tanya Streeter to TAG Heuer's roster of international ambassadors,.” says Jean-Christophe Babin, TAG Heuer's President and CEO. "Like Tiger Woods, Kimi Raikonnen, Marion Jones, Steve McQueen and the rest of the
TAG Heuer team, Tanya embodies the core values of the brand: performance, precision and prestige. A true professional, she pushes herself to the limit and has completely revolutionized her sport. This makes her an ideal representative of the TAG Heuer brand, and we look forward to working with her closely on the design and development of a whole new generation of TAG Heuer Series 2000 diving watches."
In 2002, Tanya broke the “No Limits” free diving record when she was dropped to the astounding depth of 160 meters (525ft) on a weighed sled off the coast of Miami. In 2003, off the coast of the Turks and Caicos islands, the 30-year-old British athlete shattered the women's and men's “Variable Weight” record by diving to a depth of 122 meters (400ft) on a single breath and returning to the surface on her own power. Tanya was voted best female free diver for 2003 by the Swiss-based International Center for Apnea Recognition and Education, which is affiliated with freediving's governing body AIDA International.
“TAG Heuer played a key role in my Turks and Caicos dive,” says Tanya. "I was wearing a TAG Heuer Aquagraph, a professional diving chronograph approved by the US Navy SEALS and capable of descending to 500 meters (1,640 feet).
In diving, mastering time is crucial. Having a watch you can rely on in even the most extreme conditions isn't just a necessity; it's absolutely vital. I am greatly honoured to be a part of the TAG Heuer team, and I take very seriously my commitment to participating in the design and development of the brand's prestigious Series 2000 line of diving watches."
Tanya Streeter's collaboration with TAG Heuer designers and engineers has already resulted in the launch of a new watch, the 2000 Aquaracer, a high-tech, high-design sports chronograph inspired by the precision-driven requirements of deep-sea diving. Future projects involving the further enrichment of the Series 2000 line are also underway.
“Along with the other TAG Heuer ambassadors, Tanya Streeter will soon be seen in the TAG Heuer's”What are you made of ?“campaign, which was launched on the international market in March 2002,” says Jean-Christophe Babin. “She will also be involved in public relations events for the brand.”
TAG Heuer, the reference in prestigious sports watches and chronographs since 1860, is the fourth luxury brand in the world watch market.
