Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe

The vintage-inspired Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe first presented in 2013 is extending its range by offering a 38 mm watch attired in an abyss blue recalling the depths of the ocean. Water-resistant to 30 bar, meaning around 30 metres, it is equipped with a unidirectional bezel rotating counter-clockwise in small notches, while the luminescent marker is an ideal point of reference for divers that lines up with the minutes hand to define the start of a given dive time. The watch beats to the rhythm of Calibre 1150, an authentic technical feat notably comprising two series-coupled barrels delivering a 100-hour autonomy. The movement is also equipped with a balance-spring in silicon, a light, shock-resistant and innovative material that is impervious to magnetic fields. These properties serve to improve the isochronism and thus the precision of the watch.
