In 1927, Charles Lindbergh made history as the first person to complete a non-stop solo transatlantic flight - timed by Longines in its capacity as official supplier to the International Aeronautical Federation. Shortly after, he devised an hour angle watch in collaboration with the Swiss watch brand that could be used to precisely calculate longitude during long-distance flights. It too went down in legend. Now Longines is reissuing this Hour Angle Watch as a limited series of 90 to mark the 90th anniversary of Lindbergh’s exploit. Equipped with a rotating bezel for correcting the equation of time, and a mobile central dial to set the exact second, this timepiece also indicates the hour angle in degrees and minutes. The titanium case is exactly the same size as the original, at an imposing 47.5 mm in diameter, for easy handling even when wearing gloves.
