“Il Destriero Scafusia” is the name of the exceptional design which IWC has developed to mark the 125th corporate anniversary. Only 125 units of this impressive masterpiece will ever be built. It is the most complex wristworn timepiece ever made : 750 decorated and polished parts and 76 jewels are required to provide its 21 functions : hours, minutes, seconds, perpetual calendar showing the day, date, month, year, decade and century along with the phases of the moon; split-second chronograph with totalizers for the seconds, minutes and hours; on demand, the minute repeater strikes the hours, quarters and minutes. “Il Destriero Scafusia” is furthermore equipped with a flying tourbillon whose carriage (made of titanium for antimagnetic security, like the other regulating components - an IWC speciality) effects complete revolution every minute. Its high-frequency balance wheel oscillates at a rate of 28,800 v.p.h. (IWC International Watch Co., Schaffhausen “Il Destriero Scafusia”)
