European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1983 BF 201
Left, the “Subscription Watch”,a replica of a famed design made by the master watchmaker, Abraham-Louis Breguet, around 1800. The same watch hand shows both the hours and the minutes because “...most people really need only approximate time”. This was Breguet least expensive watch though its quality was naturally beyond reproach. It was sold by subscription hence its name, and made in what for the time were large numbers. 161/2-line calibre, decorated movement, 10 micron goldplated case. Right, extra-slim quartz-piloted pocket watch. Case with 12 gloss-polished sides, black lacquered caseband, champagne dial with painted Roman numerals and faceted applied hour markers.
