European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1986 BF 2002
Omega countdown for Vancouver’s EXPO 86. The countdown of days remaining until the opening of EXPO 86 will be marked by a clock especially designed for the occasion by Omega, a company of the SMH group. The clock was officially started on March 13 1986 via satellite link, by the Swiss skiers Peter Müller and Karl Alpiger and their Canadian ski colleagues Dave Murray and Rob Boyd at the finish line of the Whistler Mountain World Cup downhill event.
After the May 2 1986 opening of this world fair in Vancouver (Canada), the clock will be re-set to mark the days remaining until the fair’s closing on October 13 1986.
EXPO 86 with more than 50 participating countries, is expected to draw over 15 million visitors.
