With its 5 step motors and an integrated circuit that packs 35,000 transistors on a 5.1 x 4 mm surface, the world’s most sophisticated quartz chronograph is shown here, at left (with k pushpieces), alongside a simplified version. It features a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock and a semiperpetual LCD digital calendar. Chronographic functions : seconds totalizer and 1/100 sec. indicator at centre, minute and hour totalizers. Operating modes : Addition, Split Times and Lap Times. Ten times can be memorized and called up as per indications appearing in an LCD readout. At right, the simplified version, with 2 pushpieces, provides a small seconds hand, date calendar along with following chronograph functions seconds and minute totalizers at centre, counter to 1/10th second at 2 o’clock, with flyback hand for split-time operations. Both models include a battery end-of-life indicator. Both are water-resistant down to 100 m and their stainless steel case is reinforced by a screw-lock crown.
