Swiss Watch Fair 1972 BF 305
Still at the prototype stage last year but now in production is the quartz electronic watch designed and built by Girard-Perregaux, a skeleton model of which is presented here. The quartz vibrates 32,768 times per second, a frequency which an integrated circuit divides down to i impulse per second for transmission to the hands by means of a stepping motor. With calendar. Its yearly accuracy is expressed in seconds. Available in steel, goldplate and 18 carat gold. (GIRARD- PERREGAUX)
