Jean Lassale BASEL 94
This pocket watch (quartz movement) cased in 90 grams of 18K gold has hand-engraved on its cover an exact miniaturization of the rose-window of the Basle Cathedral, whose stained-glass panels are reproduced in Geneva enamelling. The yellow gold of the cover has been tinted to resemble the characteristic red sandstone of the Cathedral. The case-back of the watch carries a reproduction of the earliest existing engraving of the City of Basle (15th century). Hundreds of hours have been devoted to this watch by the master-engraver Manuel Blasco.
