Philippe Dufour - Double régulateur

A world first, this double-escapement wristwatch was designed and manufactured by Philippe Dufour, a master watchmaker from the Joux Valley. The double escapement, which is one of the most difficult complications to make, is even more complex than the tourbillon. Unlike the latter, there is no mass added to any of the escapement parts. The complicated differential system, which is essential for operating the two balances, also reduces by half the errors caused by the escapements.
