A world première in mechanical time. Developed by A.-L. Breguet in 1801, the tourbillon is a mobile frame or cage carrying the various parts of the escapement, with the balance at its centre. Its purpose is to compensate for rate drift in the vertical position and it ranks among the most ingenious mechanical devices ever conceived. For the first time in the history of watchmaking, this tourbillon-equipped timepiece from Grald Genta comes with the following complex functions : seifwinding system, hour, quarter and minute repeater, plus stylized perpetual calendar.
