European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1987 BF 324
A world first from Frederic Piguet: a new movement for quartz chronographs, designed specifically for top-of-the-line timepieces. It features a pair of motors each controlled by an integrated circuit. One commands the hour, minute, seconds and date functions while the other is basically dedicated to the timepiece’s chronometer functions, designed along traditional lines - i.e. with chronograph hand with flyback capability (actioned by a pushpiece), short-time readings to 1/10th second. Significant power savings give the single battery more than 3 years’ operational life. This movement is amazingly thin 4*75 mm for a diameter of 27 mm. Minute and hour timers, small seconds hand and date calendar. (FREDERIC PIGUET S.A.)
