European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1990 BF 213
This “sympathetic clock” is a truly exceptional device. Featuring a number of complex ancillary mechanisms, it shows the time and the date (day of the week, date and month) along with the time equation (the difference between true solar time and mean indicated time), the phases of the moon, the temperature and its own power reserve. Its movement features a detent escapement and a bimetallic balance. A recess in its dial is designed to receive a pocket watch with grand strike which is automatically wound and reset to the exact time by the clock (acting “in sympathy”). The clock itself is decorated with gold, rock crystal, onyx, coral inlays and diamond motifs. (TECHNIQUES HORLOGERES APPLIQUEES S.A., Sainte-Croix)
