European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1989 BF 209
When Universal Genève introduced its “calibre 66” in 1966, it was the thinnest selfwinding movement made : barely 2.50 mm. Its secret was an offcentred mini rotor moving on four ball-bearings. For its comeback in the “Collection 66” line, a splendid openworked “skeleton” version, with chased decor, has been executed. It is housed in a water-resistant 18K gold case, with beaded decor and engine-turned middle. (UNIVERSAL GENEVE “Collection 66”)
