European Watch Clock and Jewellery Fair 1989 BF 226
Designed specially for competition sailing, the “Memosail” watch combines the advantages of mechanical and electronic technology. It is built around an ETA 2671 selfwinding movement with centre seconds hand. The basic movement is capped and ringed by a bell-shaped, patented module containing a battery, an integrated circuit and a countdown mechanism. It in turn controls a regatta-type time display : five discs that change colour as the start of the race nears, plus a 60-second totalizer. This astute technical solution limits power drain and provides constant, independent time functions. It also keeps this watch quite slim and makes it possible to substitute a quartz for the mechanical movement. Steel case with rotating bezel. Water-resistant down to 100 m. (MEMOTIME “Memosail Skipper”)
